National and International Recognition
Most professional discipline related certification is limited to the specific province or state. The Canadian Council of Professional Certification (CCPC), in contrast, has a charter granted by the federal government open to all Canadians regardless of where they reside. As well the CCPC charter explicitly permits international recognition of professionals working in other countries regardless of nationality. Since 1975, the CCPC offers a number of professional disciplines - Solution-Focused Therapist, Practitioner and Coach designations being one of the most recent. Based on the well established University of Toronto Solution-Focused Counselling program, the CCPC offers the first international certification in the solution-focused model with practitioners currently in the United Kingdom, Poland, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Become an Approved S-F Trainer
Interested S-F certificate holders are qualified to instruct the Basic Skills (12 hours of instruction) module in their specialty. This also means that these instructor can promote their training as approved by the CCPC; can issue 12 hours of CEU credits towards the CSF (T/P/C) as applicable and use the CCPC Approved logo stamp on print material.
The students of these workshops will be eligible to apply for advanced standing in one of the CCPC approved programs (e.g., University of Toronto Solution-Focused Counselling certificate program - http://www.oise.utoronto.ca/fswconted or Dr. Warner’s Solution-Focused Interviewing certificate program- http://www.solutionfocusedinterviewing.ca ). In fact certificate holders are encouraged to work towards gaining sufficient experience to develop and conduct their own 60 hour training program, and apply for official CCPC program approval.
